Wendell Conglomerate Expands into the South and opened Trajes Wendell
Caracas, Venezuela (largest suit producer in Caracas today), United Textiles of Havana, and Textile Trim Agency of Cuba
1942
M Wenglinsky & Sons began supporting soldiers in WWII
Registered as a primary government supplier producing Red Cross arm bandages for war effort with new location –
115 Andover Street, Baltimore, Maryland
1953
David Wendell, youngest son of Mendel, incorporated new division
Wendell Textiles, Inc. for production of waistbands and first fusible interlining.
Production lines are located in the USA.
1963
Expanded to larger location & Robert Wendell joins Wendell
Robert Wendell (son of David Wendell, 3rd generation) joins Wendell Textiles, Inc
as Executive VP and opens Shirt, Hug, Tab division. Creates patent for Shirt
Tucking/Hugging technology products.
1972
Largest Producer of Interlining
Wendell Textiles continues to grow and moves to larger space at 8803 Kelso Drive, Baltimore, Maryland. Quickly becomes the largest producer of interlinings in the USA with 14 production lines of knitting, coating, and production of non-
woven products.
1984
4th Generation joins the company & leads development
Gregory Wendell and Scott Wendell (sons of Robert Wendell, 4 th generation) join
the Wendell Companies. They lead the development of patented, revolutionary
stitchless fusible chest piece for suit jackets and belt loop inserts.
1990-1995
Revolutionized fusible knit market, 4 generations strong
Developed and revolutionized the fusible knit market and created concepts for fusible circle knitting and tricot products with 4 new advanced production lines
with monthly outputs of 1M meters.
2005-2015
Wendell expands into the east
Wendell moves east and continues to expand with the opening of factories in China, Taizhou Province with 20 coating and nonwoven production lines, 600
knitting and weaving machines, and supporting hundreds of USA and EU brands
1995-2000
Global factory production expands
Global factory production expansion explodes into Mexico, Dominican Republic, Central America. Begins working with customers exporting via 807, CAFTA and
NAFTA rules.
2015-2020
Global growth continues
Global growth continues into Bangladesh, India, Vietnam, Indonesia, Haiti, Colombia, and Peru.
